The Formula 1 season ended with a new face on the top step of the podium at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Brad Pitt.
Pitt, busy filming Jerry Bruckheimer’s ‘F1’ movie 2025, joined Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Mercedes’ George Russell to spray champagne in an apparent victory celebration. Fellow actor Javier Bardem, who plays the team leader of Pitt’s character’s fictional Apex GP team, Sonny Hayes, joined the trio on the podium.
The podium moment took place shortly after the actual ceremony of the race, which saw Lando Norris celebrate McLaren’s victory and constructors’ championship.
Leclerc was present on both podiums, having also finished third in Sunday night’s race.
The upcoming film, which boasts seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton as producer, has been given full access to the Formula 1 grid and its 10 teams.
Filming for the project, which will run from 2023, concluded at the Abu Dhabi event. Pitt has been on location at several events this year, filming scenes in front of a live audience.
Pitt and co-star Damson Idris, who plays Hayes’ teammate in the film, also drove the modified car used to film the race.
The film is scheduled for international release on 25 June 2025, with a US release two days later by Warner Brothers Pictures and Applie. Both releases will be the week of that season’s Austrian Grand Prix.
