Star India batsman Virat Kohli trained hard with other members of the team in Adelaide on Tuesday, Dec. 3 before the second Test against Australia. Notably, India will face Australia in the second match of the five-match series starting Dec. 6. Before the match, the entire team trained hard to prepare for the pink ball challenge.
A large crowd of Indian fans had gathered around the Indian team’s training nets to get a glimpse of their favorite stars. Of all the players, it was star batsman Virat Kohli who drew the most attention as a swarm of fans watched him wield his willow and play some sumptuous shots.
Kohli recently regained his form when he scored a magnificent 100* (143) during the second innings of the first Test against Australia at Optus Stadium in Perth. It was his first hundred after a 16-month gap with the last ton coming against West Indies in July 2023.
Kohli joins elite list after Perth century
The former India captain recorded his seventh Test hundred in Australia and moved into second place with Wally Hammond on the list of Australia’s greatest Test centuries after Jack Hobbs (9).
He entered the series not in top form in 2024 having scored only 255 runs from 13 innings at an average of 21.25 with only a half-century to his name.
Things got worse for the star batsman as he was dismissed cheaply in the first inning after being caught by a rising delivery from Josh Hazlewood and had to return to the pavilion after scoring only 5 (12).
However, he was determined to turn things around in the second inning as he practiced hard on the field after the stumps of the second day, facing some deliveries from the member of the technical staff.
Kohli’s hard work paid off as the star batsman made some changes and rebelled against the odds in the second inning to score his long-awaited hundred. Meanwhile, having regained his mojo, Kohli will be eager to continue scoring runs in the second Test at Adelaide Oval as India aim to go up 2-0 in the series.
